Serving Up Smiles at Ronald McDonald House Central Florida

At WPC, we see our role not just as the team in laying bricks and pouring concrete, but as a key part of building the foundations for strong and compassionate communities. Recently, our team had the opportunity to serve up some joy by participating in the Share-A-Meal program at Ronald McDonald House Central Florida.

For those unfamiliar with this noble organization, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is dedicated to creating a home away from home for families with children undergoing medical treatment. It's their mission to offer a supportive environment where families can stay close to their loved ones during some of life's most challenging moments.

For years, RMHC's Share-A-Meal program provides comfort and nourishment to these families, ensuring they have one less thing to worry about. It is a mission we are humbled and honored to support.

This year, the WPC team returned to one of the Ronald McDonald House Central Florida kitchens, eager to bring smiles to the faces of the families staying there. Armed with loads of food and lots of smiles - we whipped up a feast with a chipotle-style lunch spread - think grilled chicken, black beans, cilantro-lime rice, and all the fixings.

Our goal wasn't just to prepare a single meal, but to provide a feast that could be enjoyed beyond that day. We packed a multitude of leftovers into convenient containers for families to grab as they come and go between hospital visits and much-needed rest.

Our collective heart was warmed being in the space that has meant so much to so many over the years. It reminded us that the essence of community lies in looking out for each other, in big ways and small. WPC is proud to contribute to the RMHC's mission, and we look forward to bringing more smiles and meals in the years to come. Because at the end of the day, it's not just about building structures; it's about building hope. We encourage you to learn more about Ronald McDonald House Central Florida, there are many ways to support this important local organization.
