New Mortgage-Free Home for Wounded Veteran and His Family
Updated: Mar 18, 2021
The Home at Last Project is nearing completion of their ninth home in West Orange County, with 8 of the 9 being built in the town of Oakland, Florida. The Home at Last Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that builds homes for wounded veterans who return from service with severe disabilities. The homes are made possible through donations and partner organizations who donate both money, manpower, and expertise in the acquisition of land, as well as the construction of homes that meet the special needs of wounded veterans and their families.
Located in Winter Garden, the ninth Home at Last Project is being constructed by Winter Park Construction (WPC) and Hensel Phelps in partnership with a long list of suppliers and vendors. WPC has been part of all nine homes and Hensel Phelps has been part of 8 of the 9 projects. The 3,784 square foot home features a 3-car garage and includes five bedrooms and four bathrooms to accommodate the large family for which it is being built.
The home is being built for Sergeant Landon J Beck, USMC Retired, his wife Jessica, and their children, Serenity, 12 years old, Cristian, 10, Cristopher, 6, Paisley-Ann, 6, Maximus, 4, and Stormi,2. In September 2010 then Corporal Beck, deployed in Afghanistan, served as a turret gunner on a mounted patrol and received injuries in the line of fire along with his first purple heart medal. Beck received his second purple heart medal for multiple injuries received during the line of duty. He retired from the Marines in 2012 and has since been diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Chronic back and leg pain from undocumented combat injuries, and IBS.
John Russo – WPC Senior Estimator and Home at Last Board Member (involved in all nine homes). “All of the partners are working all-systems-go for a delivery date so that Sergeant Beck and his family can enjoy their beautiful new home for Christmas.”
Bryan Butcher, Chief Estimator at Hensel Phelps “The continued support of our valued trade partners will allow this home to be the Beck family’s biggest Christmas gift, thank you all!”

Sometimes the hardest part of troubleshooting a router is simply finding the correct administration address. Guides mentioning 1.0.0.0.1 can help users understand the basics, while reminding them to confirm the address with their device documentation before proceeding.
This was a truly meaningful story to read. Providing support and recognition to veterans and their families reflects the importance of community compassion. Stories like this remind us how much positive change can come from generosity. I came across another thoughtful community discussion on physiotherapy clinic downtown toronto that shared a similar message about helping others.
