WPC is proud to announce the completion of Madison Oaks West, a 94,000-square-foot affordable family community located in Ocala, Florida. Built on 5.07 acres, this $22.9 million development features 96 units, including 24 one-bedroom, 54 two-bedroom, and 18 three-bedroom apartments. Madison Oaks West is part of a broader initiative by WPC, in partnership with American Residential Communities (ARC) and New South Residential, LLC, to bring affordable housing to Central Florida. Residents began calling Madison Oaks home in March and the community is currently 100% full.
This year alone, WPC and ARC broke ground on two new affordable housing projects in the region, adding to a total of six collaborations with ARC. These projects have included five senior communities and one family-focused community, underscoring WPC’s commitment to increasing affordable housing access across Florida. The full roster of projects includes Madison Landing and Madison Landing II in Orange County, Madison Heights and Madison Highlands in Hillsborough County, and the newest projects—Madison Grove in Osceola County and Madison Oaks West in Marion County.
The vision for the artwork at Madison Oaks West aligns with ARC's tradition of integrating art into their communities, bringing a unique and inspiring element to the neighborhood. For this project, the developer has commissioned artist Andrew Spear to create an original mural that captures the essence of the local surroundings. The artwork, depicting the serene landscapes of Ocala's horse ranches at dawn, reflects a peaceful, vibrant setting – a positive perspective that mirrors the promise of a fresh start in a new place to call home. Horses grazing and resting under a colorful sunrise evoke a sense of tranquility and connection to nature, enhancing the welcoming spirit of Madison Oaks West. Stay tuned for the mural reveal, which promises to add a dynamic and vibrant touch to this new community.
Meeting the Need for Affordable Housing in Marion County and Florida
Florida continues to experience a significant demand for affordable housing, especially in growing regions like Marion County. The completion of Madison Oaks West addresses this urgent need, providing high-quality living options for residents. Notably, 100% of the units at Madison Oaks West are reserved for residents who meet specific income requirements, ensuring that more families have access to safe, affordable housing that promotes stability and community growth.
